Does Race matter in Hawaii's marijuana legalization efforts? Yes.
Abercrombie has had his share of eyebrow raising practices. But in the present moment, he represents the better of the two candidates in terms of legalization.
Ige is AJA. AJA's have ruled the legislature since the heroes of the 442nd 100th battallion got their GI bills, got educated, left the plantations and seized Hawaii government. Make no mistake about it however, AJA's are conservative. VERY conservative. And I just do not see the legalization agenda moving forward with an AJA governor.
Just my opinion, of course.
I've shared another thread on this speaking on the business aspect and tourism slant. There are many positives about potential legalization. But also some pitfalls. Education is key. A free, open dialogue is key.

maybe once the aja's realize legal weed might be a solution to the massive problems facing state employee retirement funding, their attitude may change!

My spin on this thread is basically to connect the information presented in the article...and the REALITY of politics in Hawaii. Race matters in Hawaii's politics. Still.

So what does Ige think about salaries for teachers?
Abercrombie unilaterally imposed a contract against the teachers of Hawaii. That is why I am voting against him.
Quite frankly I don't care of anyone else's ethnicity and I hope Abercrombie blows his whole war chest on losing the race.
