Pahoa Observations - csgray - 07-20-2014 Noticed two things in Pahoa this week: Starbucks has signs up that they are cleaning up a stretch of the bypass. Seemed odd since the nearest Starbucks is in Hilo. Someone was doing electrical work at the old Cash'n'Carry and the For Lease sign is down. Seems like something might move in there. Carol RE: Pahoa Observations - Kelena - 07-20-2014 New cash and carry occupant needs to put that friggin' sign back up. The community should have never let that go. I am not sure what the replacement costs, but I think Punawebbers could have it put back up through donations in no time. Good for Starbucks. They aren't far from the bypass. Very Berry Hibiscus baby. RE: Pahoa Observations - james weatherford - 07-20-2014 Not sure if it is relevant, but... Recently (two weeks ago?) I saw an auto parked in front of the Pahoa C&C building and a man taking a photo of the building. On the door of the auto was "NAPA Auto Parts". RE: Pahoa Observations - fishenjim - 07-20-2014 Heard the NAPA rumors my self this week heard it was a done deal. Can't verify that but they seemed sure and credible RE: Pahoa Observations - Loretta - 07-20-2014 I also heard the NAPA rumor a couple of weeks ago. RE: Pahoa Observations - dayna - 07-20-2014 Geeze, I find it hard to believe that NAPA would move into 1. such a small location and 2. with Pahoa auto parts open 7 daze. I would go to Pahoa auto parts anyway. I like those guys. They have helped me a lot. Dayna http://www.FarmingAloha.com www.E-Z-Caps.com RE: Pahoa Observations - mac nut - 07-20-2014 if napa had free auto parts. I might go there instead of pahoa auto parts RE: Pahoa Observations - birdmove - 07-20-2014 The sign at Pahoa Auto Parts say open seven days, but it looked closed today? Napa caters to delivering parts to auto shops too. Often they run an in house machine shop too (the ones I've dealt with in the Seattle/Tacoma area). Jon in Keaau/HPP RE: Pahoa Observations - Kelena - 07-20-2014 The guys at Pahoa auto parts are really helpful and nice. They got me a car part pronto. Pahoa doesn't need another auto parts store. It does needs a center. It has none. There is no town square so to speak. There is no there, there. It would be nice if something moved into the Cash & Carry and I don't mean the Kahaualeāa 2 flow. A sanitary chain coffee shop with a bewildering array of caffeinated drinks and wi-fi would be better than an auto parts store. But they gotta put the volcano sign back up. I know that sign is now in private hands, but they have to put a sign LIKE that back up. Two of them -- one coming, one going. RE: Pahoa Observations - Carey - 07-21-2014 back to the Starbucks road crew... Starbucks has organized many Highway cleanups. Have helped on some that have been along 130 (they have a good group of people), esp the ones that are nearer to our neck of the woods, close to the dreaded Keaau bottleneck. So, if you see them, help! It is not a Starbucks People only group...they are just nice enough to organize it... Or if you have any reason not to want to associate with their group, it is easy enough to start your own cleanup group.,.. and unlike rumors I have heard as both organizer & volunteer, you will not be taking away a job from a county employee if you help at a cleanup... there are far more litter-ers than that & the county could not hire all of the litter-ers mommys to clean up after them! |
