Expect 6 hours of active high winds beginning around 8pm
Eye is expected now around 11pm just south of Hilo

Flood advisory issued for Glenwood at 4:q5 with thunderstorms

Bus service is shutting down, there will be one more Hilo-Puna bus & a 4#0 bus leaving Waikaloa

Sounds like the north end of the island is getting hammered... Tracey has a roof leaking and there neighbors tree came down and took out part of the fence!

We hear there are several trees down blocking both lanes around Lava Tree. Listening to the scanner, though, the fire department is going to have to deal with them because public works refusse to respond. I thought that's what they were on call for.

Downed power line on Leilani Blvd. No power . We went to Pahoa school. Minimal phone connection.

Can't say why they didn't respond can only tell as a retire Leo there was a point when we would no longer respond, when the wind hit 60 mph you were on your own. It was advertised prior to an event so everyone knew..
Hope all fair well during this storm have seen many prepare for the worse and hope for less.
