Forest/brush fire heading toward Ainaloa - Amrita - 09-20-2014
An additional concern we need to watch closely especially since it is so dry. I am confused by the story as it says no fire fighters have been dispatched then it seems to contradict that.

It could mean that they are not trying to put out the fire, but are setting up fire breaks closer to structures so that the fire does not get to them later on. It would be to their advantage to let as much brush burn now in the path of the flow so that it would not be as much of a concern later on. Putting out a fire close to the front is a losing battle.

The department doesn't have the resources to put out Forrest/brush fires. Their SOP is to save structures and lives. No homes in Ainaloa will burn.

The fire was in an area in which no trucks can be sent to.
Nor could firefighters be sent in. Too thick of vegetation cover and the ground is full of cracks.
The only way they fight those is with helicopter.
