Olena/Turmeric starts needed - Kiana - 09-24-2014 Does anyone have olena/turmeric/Hawaiian ginger starts for sale? We want to grow some for harvest, to cook with and for medicinal purposes. If you have any tips on how to prepare it into powder form, that would be helpful too. Mahalo! Easy as that. RE: Olena/Turmeric starts needed - Kenney - 10-24-2014 Like Kalopatchkid said, just get a piece and stick it in the soil. That's what I did 10 years ago, and I've got it growing everywhere. Even put some in huge pots so it's easier to harvest without digging through lava and rocks. It's in the ginger family, so grows like a weed here. Happy planting! |
