Number of Earthquakes - DoryGray - 10-08-2014

Just noticed, there's been a ton of earthquakes in the last few days, especially Oct 5th & 6th.

The activity is within the normal range. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/ is an easier site to use to view the seismic activity in my opinion. You can look back over the recent history there.

Earthquake rates on the Upper Southwest Rift Zone (Sulfur Cone) and West Flank remain elevated, though similar to the past couple of months. Seismicity rates in the Moku#699;#257;weoweo Crater increased over previous months with at over 20 events in the past month at shallow (<2 km) depths. All earthquakes in the past month have been small relative to earthquake sequences observed before eruptions in 1975 and 1984.

That was last month's update. We are due for a new update any day now.
