Kea'au Christmas Parade Time again!! - Royall - 11-13-2014 OK people, its that time of the year again! Time for the Kea'au Lighted Christmas Parade and Grand Cookie Exchange!! It will be in just 4 weeks (Dec 13th) and will start close to dusk. We'll be setting things up in the same place as last year. I'll give directions to the location later in a later reminder post. There will be about 4-5 popups for you to set "YOUR" chairs under to keep a little dryer! Also tables to put your cookies (hopefully homemade) out to share and the generator will keep things merry with cheerful lights. As usual, there will be a big pot of HOT coco to warm the tummy on such cold wintry night. If you look you'll probably find some peppermint schnapps to add to the coco ![]() This is the 6th annual Cookie Exchange and hope to have a great turn out!! Royall RE: Kea'au Christmas Parade Time again!! - DickWilson - 11-13-2014 Plan to be there, as usual complete with schnapps. dick wilson "Nothing is idiot proof, because idiots are so ingenious!" RE: Kea'au Christmas Parade Time again!! - Royall - 12-07-2014 Just bringing this forward as a reminder of this years Cookie Exchange at the Kea'au Christmas parade. It will be at the same location as last year, just across the street from Kikania, (the first street to the right going into the Kea'au residential area on Ohe). There will be plenty of room under the several pop-ups.... PLEASE, BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS! There is some parking available to the early birds just behind the pop-ups! RE: Kea'au Christmas Parade Time again!! - Kapohocat - 12-07-2014 Had a great time last year. Working on my cookie recipe for this year! RE: Kea'au Christmas Parade Time again!! - EightFingers - 12-09-2014 We would like to come, but I wonder how many cookies to bring. Any ideas? RE: Kea'au Christmas Parade Time again!! - Carey - 12-09-2014 I have brought a few dozen, but usually do not take home any (no need) Usually people munch on a few cookies during the parade & then exchange cookies, and some just bring to share & do not take home, while others do take home... so a good point to start would be to bring more than you would like to take home (for the parade munching) RE: Kea'au Christmas Parade Time again!! - Tink - 12-09-2014 "Will work for cookies" has always been my motto. So with that said, I'm sure there are others that feel the same way, so bake lots of them! (Hint, the more "different" they are, the faster they will disappear. Toll house chocolate chip, so so. Chocolate w/coconut and macadamia, gone in a flash and great "trade" value! Community begins with Aloha RE: Kea'au Christmas Parade Time again!! - Radiopeg - 12-12-2014 So many recipes, so little time. Actually we get so sugared out, I was wondering about just bringing something hot to eat. Will you have spare power for a crockpot? Edited to complete my thought. Peace and long life RE: Kea'au Christmas Parade Time again!! - Royall - 12-12-2014 I'll have a generator there peg... there is going to be other hot food there. We'll plug in until the lights go out and then back up!! LOL I'll be up O'dark 30 and sitting at the same location as last year to claim our spot! Be early if you want to take advantage of the parking behind the tents! I am with you on the sugar so I googled "savory cookies" and found this simple recipe. |
