Oriental Greens - Zen hybrid - Rene Siracusa - 11-22-2014

Not too long ago Nick Sakovitch, in his Garden Guy column, extolled the virtues of this leafy green: fast-growing, slow-bolting, leaves edible when young (raw) or cooked (older), and very tasty. It's a cross between Chinese Cabbage and Asian Mustard Spinach (Komatsuna) and is sweet and tender. It likes full sun and can also be grown in containers.

Although it's a hybrid, it sounded so interesting that I decided to try it but couldn't find the seeds. So I special ordered it from Pahoa Feed and Fertilizer, and they ordered extra, so seed is now available at $1.99 per packet from them.
