Coqui-catchin cats - Guest - 10-26-2007

So far my cats have caught three frogs this week that they brought in the house -- where they met their demise.
Compared to my roaming around the bushes with a spotlight and a sprayer, I'm liking this method.

Anyone else's cats do this?

we have lots of small and large bufos around, but so far the cats have had the sense not to capture bufos -- or else coqui are easier to catch.

The coqui hop around like superballs once inside; guess the cats find them entertaining. Downside, they lost one and it hid out behind the washer/dryer ...

Hi KathyH there was another thread recently about this. Yous our Shadow is a Coqui slayer.
The neighbors have 3 juvenile cat (less than a years) I noticed they are making an impact.

OH that Chewy is too cute!

My kitties, banned in Hawaii, love to eat lizards (google Domestic Bengal cats). Perhaps they too will love to eat coqui and of course being the good kitties they are they do eat rats and mice, and moths!

Yes, we're actually starting to look for a girlfriend for Chuy...found a couple of people on the Island with Applehead girl-puppies...he's still a virgin. Smile

lol Carolann, your kitty is most welcome in "my" thread (I just wanted to start something lighthearted as so much grim stuff is going on).

My calico cat is a fearsome rat and mouse hunter.
Her mom, an orange tabby, settles for coqui and gekkos ... and chameleons. I'm sorry about the lizard friends; unfortunately the cat nature doesn't distinguish between good and bad prey.

Our last house we had quite the chameleon population living on the curtains -- escapees.

i dont feed mine in the afternoon so they are pretty hungry by dinnertime. i would hate to be a coqui hopping around my cats at about dinnertime.
