So thick you can cut it with a knife right now by Lelani.
Might have to work up a baking soda air filter.

Vog or smoke? (looks like both perhaps on air monitors)
Is it not dumping buckets down there to help clear things out?

Quick note:
Envista http://emdweb.doh.hawaii.gov/air-quality/
is using 24 hour averages(?)for determining AQI so right now PUNA E:
SO2 = O.15 Index=1 Air Quality = Good

Hawai'i Short Term SO2 Advisory http://hiso2index.info/
is using 15 min averages so PUNA E:
SO2 = O.15 Air Quality = Moderate

If you care about S02 / vog use the short term advisory!

It tastes tangy, so im going with VOG.
Even the buckets of rain cannot clean it.

Nothing new except when it came in. Usually this junk won't move in until later in the evening when most everyone is sleeping. The rain and wind direction fueled this inundation today. Sure does not smell like the flow has stopped or stalled yet I want to celebrate the possibility if we could ever open our windows or doors today.

the flow front has stalled, but the eruption has not.

Close the doors and windows. Get some thin cloth rags the size of your portable fan. Make a thin paste of baking soda and water. Drape the drenched but not dripping rag over the fan mostly hanging over the front. Move it around the house or leave it in a small room. De-activates the sulphur dioxide.

Since last night , and all day today the air from Kapoho to Kalapana, has been really bad - no wind and maybe some type of inversion going on overhead, not so lucky we live Hawaii right now.
