The only data available from the US Census that I can find is an estimated growth for the County of 5% from 2010 to 2013. Of course, census data is freely available on the web if you are interested.

Lava lava. These statistics mean quite alot. How often have i read on this forum on how you all want to keep country country and have fought against new development because of fear that the hallowed Pahoa town might fall apart if new stores came in or if mainland fat cats wanted to develop your area. SURE boring you say well your whole lifestyle is dependant on how many folks move here the attitudes, the style, the too progressive ideas that may change your world! Yeah I guess your right Lava lava census is boring and meaningless if thats so it makes you and others hypocrits. Small town turns into huge metropolis! Would that effect you? Think before you quote some jibberish

More vehicles on H11 could be due to more tourists because of the volcano being in the news.

Census figures for the past year will not be available for sometime yet, perhaps a year or two. I am unaware of any census taking that is underway at this time.

Your best source for near term data, if it is available, might be DMV vehicle registrations. I suggest you contact the DMV and let us know what you find out.

There was a recent report on Hawaii State growth that said the state as a whole was not growing in population due to people moving here, that all the recent population growth for the state was from what is called natural increase: births outpacing deaths. Since Hawaii County and Puna in particular had had the lion's share of the population increase when the 2010 census was released I would guess that we are not seeing very many people moving here. I would also guess we are seeing an increase in tourism for Hawaii Island due to the Volcano being in the news on the mainland.

New construction building permits are also an indicator of population increase, you might want to call the building department and ask home many new homes have been built in your area recently, all those new people (if they exist) would have to live somewhere.
