RE: DUCK ILLNESS - Carey - 01-27-2015 A couple of these have the head shaking & eye discharge: http://www.duckhealth.com/duckhlth.html RE: DUCK ILLNESS - lquade - 01-28-2015 during this dry dry weather, water gets stagnant ducks get botulism really easily. biggest problem is they drown when their legs give out. corral them and give them water in shallow pan. make sure you clean their eyes/bill holes with lots of fresh water. i have had 2 pekins had to pull through this. once it passes they will be ok. i sure was happy with that rain and really scrubbed out my pond. when it gets dry like that i empty my pond so the water cannot get fouled.. RE: DUCK ILLNESS - terracore - 01-28-2015 AG office in Hilo will run tests for free. Or if its too late, free necropsies. Hope the latter isn't necessary. good luck. Also might want to try the backyard chicken forum. People with ducks there too. |
