It's been awfully quiet in here regarding the recent events concerning our dear mayor. Full disclosure: I did not vote for him. But I feel he has been a good mayor. This latest news got me scratching my head.

I wonder if he was hosting someone else, possibly an overseas visitor who might be able to grease the wheels for Billy's next step when he term limits out, and he made a big mistake when he used the county card. Now Billy can't embarrass his "alibi" so now he has to take the full fall himself. In the big picture this is pretty minor, but taken along with some of his other bad choices in the much more distant past in terms of who he has associated with, it is pretty disappointing.

From what I understand in Japan quite a bit of legit business deals are worked out in a hostess bar, so perhaps you are on the right track there Shockwave. Hence the reason on the gov't card if all on the legit side, but still a lapse in judgement on which way to call it.
Either way, It really doesn't matter to me, and I am not the final judge in what gets greased, as long as they do their job in serving the people they represent.

Obviously Kenoi erred in reimbursing these expenses when he should have simply disclosed the Important County Business which was discussed.

Billy does not have a good reputation. As far as I know he was shipped off to the mainland to put his **** together. And it seems he did with education, but the bad habits of bars, and entertainment still persist.
Bad habits are hard to break!

trying to impress? Or not enough credit on his own personal cards, which are the ones he should have used??

Also, totally dislike his pidgeon talk, when he is a professional attorney, that can speak regular English.

Prolly had a fun time, I wish I could have joined him.
He comes back and gets to work ... Who among us does not feel refreshed, recharged and ready to get back to business with alacrity after some nice time off ???
