Pain in the Pandanus - Lee M-S - 04-26-2015

My variegated pandanus is so big, it blocks my view of the road when pulling out of the driveway.

I'd love to make it into a tree. Do I just remove all the pups, or is there more to it?

Is there a good way to remove keiki so they can be replanted? (Not on my property, I only have 3 acres.)

And does anybody want a keiki or three?

if its old enough and off the ground you can usually remove the lower leaves and dead leaves still attached to let the trunks show (and thin out keiki and some of the trunks of needed)....
PS. the only difference between the variegated one and the indigenous one is the lack of thorns on the variegated one... sometimes they will revert back to being a solid green color, but the thorns will still be absent.

save our indigenous and endemic Hawaiian Plants... learn about them, grow them, and plant them on your property, ....instead of all that invasive non-native garbage I see in most yards... aloha

Thanks, Bananahead
It's about 12' tall, and 15' wide. That's probably old/tall enough. I just have to get in there and start whacking, I guess.
