Relating to Homeowner's Association; HB 381 - rainyjim - 07-27-2015

Now is the time to voice your support.

Our very own Rep. Joy San Buenaventura is one of the introducers.

RE: Relating to Homeowner's Association; HB 381 - pahoated - 07-27-2015

That bill was submitted when the legislature was still in session. The session ended in May. It also never went past first introduction, so it died, meaning it won't be picked up next session.

"Aloha also means goodbye. Aloha!"

Rep. Joy San Buenaventura is trying to find out if there is still interest in the legislation to guage if she should try for a hearing in 2016.

RE: Relating to Homeowner's Association; HB 381 - Hualani - 07-29-2015

yes to Joy's reintroduction. sadly the Bill was inadequate. HPP one of best but not only examples of needed statewide clarification and "limitations" on HOAs. theres interest at state, local and federal levels to require lowered/capped rates for disabled adults (ie VA disability, Soc.Sec.disability) to offer similar reductions as is required for Property Tax. If right to foreclose, then rights for reduced fees to those on forced limited incomes becomes a necessary portion of Bills relating to same.

Here is the Rep.'s contact info, if you have interest in seeing a reintroduction maybe this would be a better way to let her know. I'm not sure!

It is not dead just because it never got a hearing. 2015 was the first year of the biennium - meaning the bill is still alive for next year's legislative session.

if she was trying to find out if there is interest why not meet with the subdivisions that would be affected by the legislation. interesting, ms. buenaventura's family member is a paid worker on the roads in a subdivision that would be affected by this legislature.

RE: Relating to Homeowner's Association; HB 381 - kalakoa - 07-30-2015

[§421J-1] Scope. This chapter shall apply to all planned community associations existing as of June 16, 1997 and all planned community associations created thereafter.

Extending the definition of "association" will have approximately zero effect in Puna.

why did you say this ?? why would it be in the bill unless it did affect puna because she represents puna ,
