3 big ships just left Hilo Harbor heading north. They look military. Anyone know what they are & what they're doing here?

I didn't document all the different ships but I did spot the Shimayuki #3513 and it was very impressive.

So, 3 Japanese destroyers in Hilo port - what is that about? How come this stuff isn't in the papers? Sorry, I know that sounds really naive.
