HPD reporting 130 is closed at the Keaau transfer station. Motorists are advised to use Road 8/Ainaloa route.

Also, inbound traffic on 200 (saddle road) is closed at and being diverted to Kaumana.

HWY 11 is backed up to Keaau right now so going to be a slow crawl up to Ola'a/40th or Kauuli/Road 8.

On http://www.punatraffic.com right now, a police car sideways halting traffic at Kea'au / 130 intersection.

Looks,like the crash is at Shower, that's about all I know.

It's on the tribune already, says it happened at 1:45 near the transfer station. Must have been a big wreck, they closed the highway from 11 to Shower for awhile. Looks like it is opening up now.

Jeez, too bad there isn't an alternative route to and from Hilo to Puna. It's not like that would ever be helpful or increase road safety.

My heart goes out to all the regular commuters, but how many more examples do we need to get another road?! And this happened in the new "well-planned" area!
