San Buenaventura-Ruderman townhall on June 9 - Frankie Stapleton - 05-21-2016
St. Rep. Joy San Bueanaventura and St. Sen. Russ Ruderman will host a Puna Legislative Townhall meeting from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, June 9 at the Pahoa Community Center. They will provide a legislative update and discuss the evolving medical marijuana dispensing rules as well as other issues. The public is invited to take part in this free event.

There sure has been a lot of time and energy spent on this marijuana thing. With all the really serious issues we're faced with this particular issue seems pretty trivial. For example, I have several friends and relatives in Colorado, Washington, Alaska, etc., none of whom take cannabis. They tell me that the new law has made absolutely no difference in their lives. I wonder what else our legislators will discuss?

Additional monetization strategies for the MMJ program. I don't know where that money will come from; the permits and HELCO bills have pretty much eaten all potential profits.

Does anyone have an update on this meeting, and the issues discussed, please?
Frankie, could you please post Joy's (and Russell's) direction, goals, proposals, for the upcoming session (not just the election)? Thank you in advance.
I have some concerns with both of these candidates, and trust that something of substance for Puna (both "upper" and "lower") will materialize.
