Attack of handicap homeless man - alaskyn66 - 06-11-2016 http://m.hawaiinewsnow.com/hawaiinewsnow/db/330510/content/e0QueUxv I hope something is done about this.. who does that to a person in a wheelchair.. (Sorry for the mobile link) ..What would King Kamehameha do.. RE: Attack of handicap homeless man - Carey - 06-11-2016 IF this is true " witnesses say the perpetrator manages the Lava Shack bar in Pahoa.", then we all have choices: Do we continue to patronize Lava Shack, or not? Do we encourage bands like Sudden Rush to find alternative venues until this is resolved, or not? [edit: they have a FB presence, give them feedback, if you think it is worth it: https://www.facebook.com/Sudden-Rush-Nation-183854251748073/?fref=ts ] Do we strive to find another way for the homeless issue is handled in our communities, or do we endorse mean-spirited actions? How each of us answers is meaningless, the actions we take will have meaning. RE: Attack of handicap homeless man - alaskyn66 - 06-11-2016 Any business that kicks a man when he is down.. doesn't get any of my business. ..What would King Kamehameha do.. RE: Attack of handicap homeless man - PaulW - 06-11-2016 I don't know who did it but check your facts before boycotting. RE: Attack of handicap homeless man - Obie - 06-11-2016 The owner couldn't have been cleaning up the mess on on the ground at the entrance to his business ? I saw someone with a garden hose ! RE: Attack of handicap homeless man - alaskyn66 - 06-11-2016 I'm... going .. to type .. this slow... for the Pahoa business owners who don't read to fast... why don't you offer the homeless a meal... or a few dollars...to keep your lot picked up...(just sayin..) ...most homeless people ( not counting the ones that are bat crap crazy)... are more than willing to help you out. ..What would King Kamehameha do.. RE: Attack of handicap homeless man - shockwave rider - 06-11-2016 quote: "We are very ashamed and disappointed on the way things were handled," said Chris Mohr, manager of Lava Shack. In this statement to the HawaiiNewsNow people Mohr is clearly admitting he, or someone else from his establishment, were responsible for the attack, otherwise they would have no reason to be ashamed. Which facts are you suggesting be checked before boycotting? All the Pahoa businesses have to deal with the local homeless population who live on Pahoa main street, no one else has responded by pepper spraying or macing a guy in a wheelchair after throwing ice water on him. RE: Attack of handicap homeless man - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 06-11-2016 What if an employee of the Lava Shack, working late at night on his own, made a bad personal decision that the owner himself would never make or condone? Not saying this is the case, but it's a possibility. “There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them.” -Joseph Brodsky RE: Attack of handicap homeless man - Kapoho Joe - 06-11-2016 quote: Then we should be reading a statement soon from the owner saying as much. RE: Attack of handicap homeless man - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 06-11-2016 Then we should be reading a statement soon from the owner saying as much. Doubtful, if he's being sued. It would be an admission of guilt that his employee, who's actions he is financially responsible for, attacked a helpless, wheelchair bound person. He would probably lose his business to pay for a court case. If the owner is lucky, he has some kind of insurance that will provide for an out of court settlement. “There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them.” -Joseph Brodsky |
