RE: Mountain Apples - free - birdmove - 06-30-2016 Our tree, since we got rid of all the sun blocking plants, came to life and made lots of fruit. But, much of it just drooped off the tree before it was ripe. We've seen a few other trees do the same. Anyone else? Jon in Keaau/HPP RE: Mountain Apples - free - allensylves - 06-30-2016 Our young tree is in full sun and had a good crop this year. I took off about 2/3 of the fruit and so got good sized ones to harvest. Unfortunately, a lot of them split inside the open end and many had fruit fly larvae. We have 4 different varieties(?) with 4 different ripening periods - this year. The "white" ones are actually pink and are the latest - just now ripening. Allen Finally in HPP |
