A newly formed pacific storm carries the same name as former Puna councilman Mr Fred "Blas". This storm may be worth watching and it does concern me a bit, because of it's more southern pacific location and its"Blas" name of course, jmo.

Neither system are a threat to us. Quite why the name of a storm is a reason to be concerned about it is beyond me.

TomK, We out here in geothermal county never Quite knew where Mr. Blas stood on the many geothermal issues or the protection of the surrounding communities. So many changes happened out here in geothermal county during Mr. Blas tenure. We have lost our rights and our voice regarding any geothermal production that comes from under our home or neighborhood,jmo.

P.S. I have many Hawaiian friends who believe leilani estates now sits over one gigantic geothermal waste cesspool. Are they really this lost about their own aina, or is their some truth to what they are saying?

This is a question I'm sure many of us ask ourselves, many times a day, where ever we go. About occurrences deep beneath the aina, or even above.

HOTPE, good morning and happy 4th of July. Sorry, after re-reading my last post here I find the way I used the word "Stupid" to be too insulting, insensitive, and disrespectful. I shouldn't have used the word stupid, I apologize.

Correct: all geothermal leases and permits are issued by State, along with all important zoning decisions. There is very little "home rule".
