Local business. - Guest - 08-02-2016 The reason(s) you will pay more. I know its a narrow topic, but please list your favorite local business(es) that you work with vs. going " off shore " Please abstain from the typical " I can get it on Amazon / Costco for cheaper " as this has already been done ad nauseam ... and NOT including restaurants too. Lets highlight, celebrate and support LOCAL folks working hard. https://www.facebook.com/hawaiitechworks/ Is my favorite. followed by: www.midpacificwheels.com www.hilobikehub.com RE: Local business. - Seeb - 08-03-2016 Took my son to a robot class at Techworks, but haven't heard anything from them in a year or two RE: Local business. - Guest - 08-03-2016 They are still around Seeb, office on 47 Rainbow Drive now. http://www.hawaiitechworks.org/ I would encourage everyone to stop by the Makery at 126 Keawe St. Downtown and see what these talented guys and gals are doing. Please shop local for your gifts now and for the holidays. www.themakeryhilo.com/ RE: Local business. - james weatherford - 08-03-2016 Del's and Miranda's both have good service. Prices are definitely island style, that is high, but with limited and/or costly shipping available for feed, fence, etc. I am glad to have them available. RE: Local business. - Mr nice guy - 08-03-2016 Mac Made Easy in Hilo. Not sure about why I would pay more because they aren't particularly expensive. Their customer service can be described as fast, professional and courteous. Where would you be if it weren't for the love of another? RE: Local business. - kalakoa - 08-03-2016 Favorite local business: the guys who sign for my Amazon packages -- costs a little more, but totally worth it. RE: Local business. - randomq - 08-03-2016 Kalakoa: the post office "signs" for my amazon packages, even the ones from fedex and ups. It's an official USPS service. I like Argus for lumber. Nice helpful guy, good product, cheap or free delivery. I hear there is a local lumber mill somewhere between kea'au and hilo, anyone have info on that? I'd love to get some rough cut unrated stuff for cheap. RE: Local business. - Guest - 08-03-2016 I think its little further up Randomq. Wait for Carey lol, or try to ask these guys who also have an awesome place for gifts. http://www.stebbinsstudios.com/ RE: Local business. - kalakoa - 08-03-2016 It's an official USPS service. USPS isn't really a "business", nor is it "local" (even if they do hire local workers). RE: Local business. - Guest - 08-04-2016 Another awesome Craftsman to consider. http://www.uppglass.com/ |
