RE: Jabbed a couple holes in the canec tonight - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 08-23-2016 Don't forget to include the verse: "Whaaan it rains... it pooors" - Be pleasant to inefficient workers; give them undeserved promotions. - Work slowly. - Refer all matters to committees for "further study and consideration. - Hold conferences. - Make travel as inconvenient as possible. - Haggle over precise wordings of communications. - Advocate “caution.” Be “reasonable” and avoid haste. You can actually apply Rainout as it's pouring down rain, and have a good chance of sealing. Community begins with Aloha RE: Jabbed a couple holes in the canec tonight - birdmove - 08-23-2016 Sorry, I meant Henry's. That's the stuff that looks like black tar. I worked at a truck repair shop doing fleet maintenance for many years. We also had a paint and body shop with a 60+ foot spray booth, where they fit a 60 foot freight trailer. We ran lots of service calls. Our trailer guy tried all kinds of products. The freight companies would load a trailer, then, being Seattle, the rain would come, and they'd see they had leaks. They'd call us in a panic, not wanting to unload, and, we'd send Charlie over to fix it. We had tried Rainout, Vulken Sealer, and then, Henry's. Charlie would, if the holes were large, cut a new roof tin patch, and rivet it on with sealer. If it didn't require a patch, he would use Henry's on it. Henry's was the only sealer that you had a good chance of it sticking, and sealing a leak, in a driving rain. I've used Henry's here on our roof too. And, in a pouring rain. It works, if you can cover the metal roof where the leak is. In our case, it was a bathroom vent pcv pipe. I knew the leak was from somewhere around the base of that pcv vent pipe, but didn't know exactly where. So, I coated all around the base of that pipe, and got lucky and stopped the leak. Right after we moved here I bought a one gallon can of Henry's. It finally dried out. When I went to buy some more, they only had it in caulking tubes. This, at Home Depot. If you have not placed it in the sun, or warmed it by a fire, the viscosity is so thick you can bust the tube like a poppin fresh biscuit can with your caulking gun, so be careful!
