Impersonating a police officer is also a class C felony.
Can anyone name other class C felonies?
I was under the impression they were no big deal.
As long as she claims she intended to return the items sometime in the future it's not a crime right?

38 prior convictions, and they want to set her loose again? she didn't learn anything from prison so what is next.... our turnstile judicial system . hope they give her the max this time...

I think exiling from society would be a good option... You can't live by our rules, so good luck providing for yourself without us.

Hawaii island needs to send these revolving door people somewhere the door doesn't revolve. It might sound cruel to send an inmate to another state on the mainland but at least when they get out, they can't just go back to the same environment. It is tough on them but it really is better rehabilitation. They will have to be in a halfway house on the mainland, their parole officer will be a mainland parole officer, there are more places that will hire felons. It is probably cheaper to send them to a mainland prison, considering costs in Hawaii are always a lot higher.
Then there was the Fern Forest thing. This sounds like the outcome of one of the PW postings.

Seriously. She just don't GIVE A F.
She has been a habitual druggie menace in Kona, Ka'u, and now Puna. She is making her rounds after getting arrested and jailed each time.
In such cases just like this, a 3 strikes rule makes perfect sense.
