Wanted: Tank Type water heater - Peter Epperson - 02-17-2017

Looking for a 30 gallon, broken gas water heater. Will consider larger and working if that's what you have.

If you are just looking for a tank. Check with the transfer stations. I have seen several at the one in Poha.

Smiths has used appliances, but I don't remember seeing water heaters. they're on the back road to Walmart, across the street from the big yellow fabric store.

They repair appliances, and can often find you just the part you need.

They're an interesting place to browse. They get some hotel cast off furniture, some residential remodel stuff.

I'm curious Peter... What is the project?

We are repairing an old bunkhouse on a ranch in Kau. It has an outdoor bath house. Some years ago I made a wood burning water heater from an old propane water heater for the shower. It has rusted out and it needs to be replaced.

That's a cool recycling project. I remember my grandparent's house in Germany wasn't plumbed for hot water but Opa added a coal-fired hot water heater in the bathroom for the tub. The kitchen sink had a small, maybe 3 gallon electric hot water heater underneath it. Everything else was cold water only.
