Aloha all,

I have been a punaweb viewer since 2007. My last post was in around 2009. I was curious as to a few members that no longer post.
Lostboystoy = Craig the hair stylist = what happened to him and his partner?

Stillhope = is she still on island along with craig?

I have used the search function but could not find posts since 2012/2013 from either of them. I am just curious as to where they went. They were both a big part of punaweb for a quick minute.

Thanks,

Eric

A potentially better way to search punaweb is to use google like this:

go to google and then type: site:www.punaweb.org stillhope

would search punaweb.org for all posts with stillhope in it (just an example... obviously, change the search term to whatever you want)

the punaweb search tool is limited in what it can spit out, but google has all the pages indexed and the above method will use the search power of google and exclude every other web site in it's search.

craig moved back to the mainland, is now happily married to his partner and doing well. i think building on his air force time and back in school for airplane mechanics. i wish them well..

( oh new partner, jared is also back in idaho, on a farm, leading the life he loves with animals)

Mahalo lquade. I figured he moved back to the mainland. It kind of scares me when I read about people moving out there (Hawaii) and then moving back state side in 3 or so years. I also want to build my retirement home in the Puna area but get cold feet sometimes when others move back. Thanks for the info.

Stillhope was a character on this form some years back. She finally built a home and seemed to be enjoying her life in HI. I reckon she moved back home as well. Do any others out there know what happened to to STILLHOPE.........?????????

Everybody enjoy your Sat. hit the beach bra.......

We moved her on 5 1/2 years ago, and don't regret it for a minute. We came from the Seattle area. Yeah, there's some stuff I miss (chess tournaments nearly every weekend I could play in within easy driving distance, shooting ranges sprinkled all over the place ((there are none here)).

Birdmove,
your reply was a little garbled = you say "we moved her on 5 1/2 years ago...........I believe you were stating that you "moved here 5 1/2 years ago"............

It is good to hear that you don't regret it (the move) at all. I did not mean to start trouble. It would just pop into my head from time to time as certain members would stop posting. I also stopped posting for many years. = not that I had alot of posts to begin with.

Ok, enjoy life and thank you for all the memorable posts with regard to stillhope....................and lets not forget lostboystoy.............

usually if someone makes it 2 or 3 years they will stay. in the past we always said 1 of 3 move back. but older, retired folk tend to stay put here, or the type of people that don't need to be entertained all the time. i used to also say those who didn't need to always shop but slowly we are having stores move in. believe me things were a lot different before walmart and home depot!!

the next reason people move back is if a family member becomes ill or they themselves become ill because of health care. but since you said you want to retire here, you will probably be fine. i have always said if you live the hawaiian way, there is no cheaper, better place to live... i will tell craig he is missed, maybe he will pop in on the punaweb!

Other than family and finances, the others that don't seem to last long are the ones who try to bring the mainland mentality with them. The more of the mainland they try to bring, the sooner they go back.

Stillhope moved back to the mainland several years ago. She was a neighbor of mine. She lost her job, then her house and left for a better financial situation.
