Hawaii Plans to fight Trump's Muslim Ban - Guest - 03-07-2017 http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/03/08/hawaii-plans-to-fight-president-trumps-muslim-ban-2-0.html RE: Hawaii Plans to fight Trump's Muslim Ban - Rob Tucker - 03-07-2017 Do you have some commentary? I don't much approve of simply posting links without explanation. But congratulations Pog, you have found an intersection between national politics and Hawaii. No prize though. RE: Hawaii Plans to fight Trump's Muslim Ban - kalakoa - 03-08-2017 It's "nice" that our lawmakers can "show backbone", but our State really doesn't need to be picking fights that might result in the loss of our much-needed Federal subsidies, especially when there are plenty of local issues that need work. RE: Hawaii Plans to fight Trump's Muslim Ban - dmbwest - 03-08-2017 Just checking first rob. RE: Hawaii Plans to fight Trump's Muslim Ban - leilanidude - 03-08-2017 How many residents of Hawaii does this even potentially, affect? First, you have to be one that already has a green card, then you have to travel outside the US and come back. It is a complete waste of state money. RE: Hawaii Plans to fight Trump's Muslim Ban - My 2 cents - 03-08-2017 I don't much care for people continuously trying to push their agenda where it isn't wanted. The heading for this topic is not about the link posted, it's about Pog's competition with Rob. And still no comment about the link itself, even after a request for such. I would not have near the patience with this perpetual antagonizer that Rob has. RE: Hawaii Plans to fight Trump's Muslim Ban - dmbwest - 03-08-2017 Just bringing it to everyones attention .02. And checking with Rob as stated. You are welcome to add YOUR contribution, but for now, I believe the comments section of the article will speak for most. Check 'em out. Imagine what DT Pahoa or Hilo will be like ? RE: Hawaii Plans to fight Trump's Muslim Ban - Punatic007 - 03-08-2017 Seems like an idiotic waste of taxpayers money. Muslim terrorism is a real live current threat and potential disaster and one important part of appropriate security measures is by securing the borders.Seems like basic common sense. I don't get the point of suing at all. Must be some info or reasoning withheld? Are they afraid the bans will eventually apply to Filipino's? What's the deal? RE: Hawaii Plans to fight Trump's Muslim Ban - Lee M-S - 03-08-2017 from the article: "Under the pretense of national security, it still targets immigrants and refugees. It leaves the door open for even further restrictions." Like all the TSA nonsense at the airport, it's a way to erode personal liberties one fraction at a time. RE: Hawaii Plans to fight Trump's Muslim Ban - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 03-08-2017 Let's compare some odds. *How many shark attacks have there been in Hawaii recently? *How many terrorist attacks have taken place in the US under the existing rules, regulations, and screenings? More shark attacks in one state than terrorist strikes in the entire country. The new executive order is not based on events, or intelligence. It is based on fear and the attempt by the administration to create a common enemy. An enemy that doesn't exist in the US. It's an expensive response to nothing. This new executive order will be as effective as an all out effort to prevent shark attacks in the Pahoa Community Aquatic Facility & Pool. Alligator and snake attacks too. Hawaii's leaders recognize that reality, and I commend them for their efforts to encourage the highest good, rather than the lowest common denominator. You could never convince a monkey to give you a banana by promising him limitless bananas after death in monkey heaven. |
