Opinion: Blocking Travel Ban. - Guest - 03-16-2017 Has immediately done more harm than good to our state and tourism here than the Travel Ban itself ever would. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/03/15/judges-freezes-trump-revised-refugee-executive-order/ A deeper look into judges overreach. http://www.breitbart.com/radio/2017/03/16/robert-barnes-trump-could-go-full-andrew-jackson-ignore-interference-activist-judges/ RE: Opinion: Blocking Travel Ban. - Guest - 03-16-2017 Activist "Judges" driven by personal agendas are over-riding the "democratic" process. Congress passed a law in the 1950s, House and Senate alike, the President signed it into law, our current President used it, or rather attempted to use it, to get a handle on the stream of military-aged "refugees" flooding our nation, and a solitary, agenda-driven judge in Washington state, an activist in the subject matter and hence one who should have never even been considered for the case, imposed his own will on all of America, including the Congress and President of 1950, and President Trump and those who elected him, with no substance to base such a decision on whatsoever. How do Syrian Refugees, neither US Citizens, or residents, or even in-country, have Constitutional rights, I'll never know, but some Judge holds it to be his will (and hence the law of the land) that they do. Now a crack-pot judge from a crack-pot state in the Pacific does the same thing. We will never be able to pursue a defensive strategy against a religion-motivated enemy under such insane interpretations of religious freedom. The strangle-hold of judicial tyranny must be broken, and Trump should "set aside" the judges (both) decisions as a co-equal branch of government. The Constitution never granted veto-power to the courts, they cut it out for themselves out of whole-cloth, and it must be taken back. As an alternative, the President could impose the self-same travel restriction on ALL countries, and force the issue. The tyranny of unelected men in black robes must end - even in Puna. RE: Opinion: Blocking Travel Ban. - leilanidude - 03-16-2017 The people this temporary travel ban would have affected, probably were not tourists and high-end job seekers to begin with. Just remember, Obama had a similar ban a number of years ago - and no one complained! BTW, Obama and family are back on Oahu again. RE: Opinion: Blocking Travel Ban. - Guest - 03-16-2017 It is all driven by sick political agendas, and seeming national death-wishes. IF you want to fast-forward to see a snapshot in time of what is going to result from this, look at the numerous European countries who opened their doors to these invaders. For example, my beloved Sweden is now the rape-capitol of Europe, and it isn't those pesky Mormons who are responsible. Wake up, Puna. Large areas of London, and Paris and other cities are now Muslim No-Go Zones where death and brutality rule. RE: Opinion: Blocking Travel Ban. - Rob Tucker - 03-16-2017 Lopaka has been suspended until further notice. Others here are warned. Assume the best and ask questions. Punaweb moderator RE: Opinion: Blocking Travel Ban. - PaulW - 03-16-2017 "Has immediately done more harm than good to our state and tourism here than the Travel Ban itself ever would." I didn't see that in the article. Many, if not most of our tourists come from California (and overseas) and they will appreciate Hawaii standing up for the Constitution. RE: Opinion: Blocking Travel Ban. - dmbwest - 03-16-2017 In a hurry Paul? Skipped the "opinion" part of the title ? Pretty good guess stating "many, if not most of our tourists come from California (and overseas) " Who'da thunk LOL. RE: Opinion: Blocking Travel Ban. - dmbwest - 03-16-2017 Rob, as much as this topic is a thorn in your side, I for one appreciate your tolerance of it .. Its gonna effect us right here sooner than later with the current bunch on Oahu speaking for the entire country. Hard to ignore. mahalo, pog RE: Opinion: Blocking Travel Ban. - Rob Tucker - 03-16-2017 The judges ruling is Hawaii news. I recognize that. If you want national and world perspectives and news though - go elsewhere. If you just want to rant. You will definitely go elsewhere. Now in a Hawaiian perspective the Federal judge involved is one person. Not the whole state. Federal judges make their decisions independently. I think I read elsewhere where a Maryland judge came to the same conclusion. Its all above my pay grade. RE: Opinion: Blocking Travel Ban. - PaulW - 03-16-2017 So you stated your opinion (with no facts or reasoning to back it up) just so you could link to some articles from a far-right website that have very little to do with Hawaii. |
