Luquins to reopen - leilaniguy - 05-12-2017 Just saw on Facebook. Luquins is moving into the Ohialehua cafe location right now. RE: Luquins to reopen - Rob Tucker - 05-12-2017 Yeah I heard this a couple weeks ago. Makes sense. If I was him I'd pocket the insurance money and rent the old KFC location too. I did like the Aloha Lehua operation. Local restaurant, the food was good. Sorry to see them go. I hope their departure worked out for them. Best wishes to Sal and associates in the new loaction. RE: Luquins to reopen - leilaniguy - 05-12-2017 As an aside, does anybody know when the "Jersey" barricades will be moved off the sidewalk downtown? RE: Luquins to reopen - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 05-12-2017 Yes, seems like a good choice. Pretty good parking, and can you imagine if they take advantage of the existing drive through order lane and window? PDQ tacos. If I know what I shall find, I do not want to find it. Uncertainty is the salt of life. - biochemist Erwin Chargaff RE: Luquins to reopen - pander75 - 05-12-2017 This is honestly the best thing I have read on the internet all week... SO READY for them to reopen! RE: Luquins to reopen - punaticbychoice - 05-12-2017 My best wishes to you and your family and friends Salvador! A little different set-up from Pahoa "town". RE: Luquins to reopen - knieft - 05-12-2017 Sounds cool. Maybe down the line they can take over the current Malama Market building--more of a roadhouse type of dealio. Maybe a mechanical bull and a 100 foot bar! Cheers, Kirt RE: Luquins to reopen - Kenney - 05-12-2017 Happy to hear that the Luquin Ohana finally has a place to go. We've missed them all! See you there! RE: Luquins to reopen - ericlp - 05-12-2017 That would be cool... if they did open up the drive through window and had a setup like tacohell ... Personally I thought a TecoBell instead of KFC would have made it there. Never cared for KFC in Hawaii, maybe if it was a popeyes or something like that. Will be interesting to see how they set it up. RE: Luquins to reopen - leilaniguy - 05-12-2017 KFC's biggest problem was Malama. KFC was charging about $32 for chicken you could get right across the street for $17-18. Whether one was better than the other is open to debate. |
