F22 Raptor - DoryGray - 07-24-2017 Heard there was some activity at ITO. Anybody? RE: F22 Raptor - randomq - 07-24-2017 Loose lips sink ships. Nice try Kim Jung Un! RE: F22 Raptor - leilanidude - 07-24-2017 Incredible plane. Have seen the F22 Raptor Demo Team at a couple airshows. If the little fat boy dictator could watch one of these shows, he might rethink his own air force's capabilities. RE: F22 Raptor - macuu222 - 07-24-2017 Saw it briefly a couple days ago as it circled the Hilo Airport and then it shot like a bolt of lightning out in the ocean. It was gone in seconds... RE: F22 Raptor - TomK - 07-24-2017 Several years ago I was working on an engineering project at Gemini during the day on Mauna Kea when we heard the sound of loud jets which is very unusual. We all went outside and two F-16 jets were chasing each other around the summit area. After a few minutes, the lead jet slowed right down and made a very slow pass pretty close to us. We all waved and the pilot waggled his wings and then just shot off into the clouds. It was a very impressive sight (and sound)! RE: F22 Raptor - randomq - 07-24-2017 I've seen them shatter skyscraper windows with a sonic boom. I don't think I'd want them anywhere near a telescope! RE: F22 Raptor - TomK - 07-24-2017 Fortunately, they weren't flying at supersonic speeds. Yes, I suspect a nearby sonic boom would do a lot of damage up there! |
