Lemon drop mangosteen - JamesZ - 07-24-2017
Does anyone know where I can find a lemon drop mangosteen, plantable size? I have some seeds but I really don't want to wait a couple years for these little bursts of flavor to fruit.

If you absolutely have to have one, Top Tropicals will ship you one. I've had very good luck with their plants and shipping. Pricey, but like I said, if you just have to have one, they are the one source I know that will get you one.
It has been my experience that their one gallon plants are quite large.
You might want to look through their catalog and get a few more plants so the shipping isn't so high per plant.

ive got some rheedia keikis. about 6inches tall. could go in the ground. but could also wait a little while. not sure on exact scientific name so im not totally sure sure if its the 'lemon drop'. the fruits are yellow though. got it from someone on craigslist. if your interested let me know.
you could also try the wanted section of craigslist. people generally are really helpful there

Frankies Nursery on Oahu is also a great source of hard to find fruit plants.

Plants are flown over and always arrive quickly and in great condition. You pick the plants over by the airport. They aren't delivered to your door like Top Tropicals.

It looks like the rheedia are garcinia madruno and the lemon drop are garcinia intermedia, similar tasting, they say. Thanks spencerw for the offer of the six inch plants. I am going to try and find some larger plants before I take you up on that.
