Maybe the car thefts will slow down a little? Oh wait... Just more social media hysteria from Roth. RE: 08-15-17 Police Task Force arrests 27 suspects - birdmove - 08-15-2017 Well done by our police! Keep up the great work. How long till the prosecuters and judges let them loose? Jon in Keaau/HPP RE: 08-15-17 Police Task Force arrests 27 suspects - terracore - 08-15-2017 I'm guessing that has already happened. RE: 08-15-17 Police Task Force arrests 27 suspects - Chunkster - 08-15-2017 Oh wait... Just more social media hysteria from Roth.- - ericlp The cops may indeed be trying some reverse mojo on the social media hysteria thing. Pardon me for not being too ecstatic, but the 27 arrests took place between July 8 and August 11, a stretch of 35 days. So that's less than one arrest per day, and some of them are undoubtedly out on bail and back in business by now. They did recover "11 stolen vehicles, three firearms as well as stolen property taken from burglaries . . ." I guess that's something. RE: 08-15-17 Police Task Force arrests 27 suspects - EightFingers - 08-15-2017 "arrested and released"..... RE: 08-15-17 Police Task Force arrests 27 suspects - alaskyn66 - 08-15-2017 Yes, of all those arrested how many bailed out.. RE: 08-15-17 Police Task Force arrests 27 suspects - bluesboy - 08-15-2017 I read the article, sounds like good news to me. quote: RE: 08-15-17 Police Task Force arrests 27 suspects - Chunkster - 08-16-2017 As I read the media release, 12 of the 27 suspects were "later released pending investigation." Only 15 were actually charged. Having followed a few such arrest and release instances in the past that involved crimes against neighbors, my experience indicates that this was done without bond. (No charges, no bond.) Furthermore, it is iffy as to whether prosecution will ever take place. If the authorities do choose to pursue prosecution, finding and rearresting the culprits can be problematical. If anyone else has a different experience, please let us know, and I will stand corrected. RE: 08-15-17 Police Task Force arrests 27 suspects - kalakoa - 08-16-2017 If the authorities do choose to pursue prosecution Why would they bother? Mere theft doesn't rate prosecution... RE: 08-15-17 Police Task Force arrests 27 suspects - punaticbychoice - 08-16-2017 Criminals are the HPD's job security. Keep cycling them out onto the streets as soon as possible to do their (the criminals) professional thing. What is so hard to understand? |
