Rv or van - Slade - 09-12-2017 I'm headed that way , I'm looking for a small rv or conversion van, also wanted to know how safe it is parking or camping on the big island? Looking for camping spots where u can park for long periods of time ? Any suggestions? & drum circles I bring like 7 djembe drums & love to share them around the circle any good spots? RE: Rv or van - Seeb - 09-12-2017 That sounds more like Squatting than camping. RE: Rv or van - Kapoho Joe - 09-12-2017 Registration is by weight, keep that in mind. Also a van will blend in better. RE: Rv or van - Slade - 09-12-2017 Squatting camping #9978;#65039; to me are the same taking a moment to re group ground RE: Rv or van - Mimosa - 09-13-2017 The house-less ( homeless ) live in their vehicles here by the thousands.Just rent a room some where and buy locally a 4x4 SUV and good to go . RVs are frowned upon here . Mrs.Mimosa RE: Rv or van - PaulW - 09-13-2017 I've only ever seen one RV in Hawaii, and it never moves. RE: Rv or van - randomq - 09-14-2017 You can probably park a van at any number of Hawaii hippie communes or eco-hostels for a few bucks a day or work trade. RE: Rv or van - Durian Fiend - 09-14-2017 Yeah, maybe. He'd like the names of those places, no doubt. IMO, it's a bad idea. The van would be an expensive and conspicuous albatross about the neck. Hawaii is not tolerant of squatting about in a house on wheels. Better to go with a bike/motor bike and a tent. |
