So after being denied by the PUC to buy it outright, they created a wholly owned subsidiary and bought it anyway...

"Pacific Current, a newly created subsidiary of Hawaiian Electric Industries (NYSE: HE), has reached an agreement with ArcLight Capital Partners to buy Hamakua Energy Partners' 60-megawatt power plant on the Big Island for an undisclosed price."

Better to be expanding Geothermal than this.
Another waste that we will have to pay for.
Who benefits from this?
