i like cheaper beer! - Frank - 09-26-2017 as per hawaiinewsnow === http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/36460253/one-lawmaker-wants-to-make-beer-in-hawaii-cheaper RE: i like cheaper beer! - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 09-26-2017 From the link: It's a matter of fairness between social classes Yes, cheaper beer should certainly level the playing field. The Donner Party really wasn't that great of a party, was it? RE: i like cheaper beer! - ElysianWort - 09-26-2017 I rarely drink so I can't really be sure... but I have heard that a lot of the cheaper beer now has a different brew process as opposed to traditional beer-making. It is said they do a flash ferment where the mash isn't allowed to sit, take time and fully turn alcoholic. The brew has the beer taste but without the kick, so simply they add corn alcohol, to up the percentage to the right alcohol specs and via this quick process they are able to pump out more beer or (fake beer with ethanol) in a shorter period of time and make more $. Rumor is that this stuff is harder on the digestive system compared to real beer. RE: i like cheaper beer! - leilaniguy - 09-26-2017 As long as it does the trick, who's to complain. RE: i like cheaper beer! - Susan - 09-26-2017 Kirin Ichiban was 7.99 a 12 pack at KTA last week. I would consider it a quality beer at a ridiculously low price. RE: i like cheaper beer! - TomK - 09-26-2017 ""Working people tend to drink beer more often than other types of alcoholic beverages. But today they are taxed more per ounce of alcohol than someone drinking wine. When you look at it that way, the current system is incredibly unjust," he said in a press release." I would say it's just as unjust as suggesting working people don't drink wine. RE: i like cheaper beer! - Durian Fiend - 09-27-2017 I was hoping to see an image of Rep Ing patting his beer belly in the enclosed link. This strikes me as a curious cause to champion. Is he trying to home brew some favor for an upcoming election? My preference would be to raise the wine tax commensurate with beer, or higher. Who drinks wine these days, anyway? Just well to do intellectuals like TomK. RE: i like cheaper beer! - punaticbychoice - 09-27-2017 More beneficial than much that the legislature mucks around with. Tastes great and less filling. Ing for Governor!!!!![8D] RE: i like cheaper beer! - Slow Walker - 09-27-2017 quote: Check this out. http://time.com/money/3660627/fake-import-beer-kirin/ RE: i like cheaper beer! - kalakoa - 09-27-2017 reduce the beer tax from 93 cents per gallon of beer to 42 cents per gallon Assuming this "savings" is passed directly to the customer: about 29 cents/6 pack. Meanwhile, the State wharfage fees are going up again on 1 October. It's "just" an extra 15%, only "a few dollars more" on your grocery bill. |
