Council doesn't like HR audit - kalakoa - 10-04-2017 http://www.westhawaiitoday.com/news/local-news/council-panel-critiques-hiring-audit "I don't know what to make of this," said Hilo Councilman Aaron Chung. "Is there cause for concern? Was there wrongdoing? Tell us." Hilo Councilwoman Sue Lee Loy called the report a "tiny little snapshot of time … (that) seems to target specific divisions." Seems like a waste of money for auditors and a non-story for WHT, but who knows, maybe we'll get to pay for more lawsuits out of the deal. RE: Council doesn't like HR audit - Chunkster - 10-04-2017 The council's (or at least two of them) approach seems a bit baffling. The audit showed some obvious problems, but Lee Loy seems to be making excuses and Chung wants the auditors to tell him if there was wrongdoing. What part of the audit's findings would make him think the now discredited HR process was doing anything right? Very clear violations of both procedures and sound HR policy were described. The two top HR people resigned, one of them taking sick leave until the end of the year to stay on the payroll. And he still isn't sure there's cause for concern?!?!? Certain elements of the council seem to be out somewhere beyond the orbit of Planet Mongo again. RE: Council doesn't like HR audit - kalakoa - 10-04-2017 And he still isn't sure there's cause for concern?!?!? Council is on County payroll, right? RE: Council doesn't like HR audit - Rob Tucker - 10-04-2017 Traditionally the council hates audits. I suspect they are afraid the auditors will eventually get around to them. RE: Council doesn't like HR audit - punaticbychoice - 10-04-2017 The mainland pols have nothing on Hawaii or Hawai'i pols. Maybe they can get away with more in the middle of the Pacific? An audit of the County Council might be interesting indeed. Could you visualize audits of OHA, DHHL and HART?[][:I][:0][!] RE: Council doesn't like HR audit - Kapoho Joe - 10-05-2017 Welcome to the Hawaiian Islands where graft and nepotism make the wheels go round. |
