Where to buy Air Conditioners... - ericlp - 10-13-2017 Besides Home Depot....... Is there a place that is better or maybe online? I don't think Amazon ships AC units. Kinda a strange question... But I'm looking for a really nice remote controlled one, 10-12K BTU. Lowe's? Costco? Normally.......... I wouldn't even consider buying an AC unit. Because HELCO is so expensive, but... I bought a future office / condo unit and Power is included in the HOA fee's so... Everyone just has a wall type. The one in the unit I'm looking at is on it's way out and looking for a new one. Thanks.... RE: Where to buy Air Conditioners... - Royall - 10-14-2017 I've bought several to install and most have come from HD and a few from Sears. HD usually has the lowest prices. Selection this time of year won't be great though. Just a thought, always get the biggest unit that will fit the space available. You can always turn them down but if it get real warm, you'll run a smaller unit into the ground. Check if the old one is 110v or 220v. RE: Where to buy Air Conditioners... - Bullwinkle - 10-14-2017 A few months ago I bought a mini split from home depot ....self installed it 18,000 btu about 1k $ and it has a remote ....best of all shipping was free Ive seen other sources as well - wayfair for one RE: Where to buy Air Conditioners... - Kenney - 10-14-2017 We got ours from Rainbow aisle Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. 936-2461, Weldon Ahuna. Ductless, remote control. RE: Where to buy Air Conditioners... - terracore - 10-14-2017 I don't know what their stock is like in Winter, but Costco had some nice units a few months ago. They also had the floor models on wheels that don't require permanent installation. RE: Where to buy Air Conditioners... - kalakoa - 10-14-2017 Air conditioners are "seasonal", try again in the spring... RE: Where to buy Air Conditioners... - Bullwinkle - 10-14-2017 http://www.hallmanindustries.com/category/21/Ductless-Mini-Splits.html Hallman still has some 9000 and 22000 btu units in stock ....free shipping too ....shipping pre filled units a pain ...these guys seem to have figured it out You will need a vacuum pump to evacuate the lines and indoor unit and to insure there are no leaks ....the freon is in the out side unit ...once installed and leak checked - open the valve and Bobs your uncle I added a good surge protector - lightning strike at the pole cooked my first unit ...new "revised boards" were 500 for my 6 year old "ideal air" unit ....not worth the grief, without schematics board level repairs are time consuming ..... RE: Where to buy Air Conditioners... - Mac2017 - 10-14-2017 I got a LG in room air conditioner good for 300 sq ft at Smith's trading in Hilo new in the box for 100 bucks and it works perfect just no remote. RE: Where to buy Air Conditioners... - Gus - 10-14-2017 I got a winow unit from Target.com that had free shipping. It was reasonably pricedand works well. It replaced an LG unit from HD that was terrible. I complained so much that eventually LG sent me a refund and told me to recycle it. The Target unit is a aFrigidaire. RE: Where to buy Air Conditioners... - bystander - 10-15-2017 I tried one of those portable units rated at 12,000 BTUs but it just didn't do the job. Now I'm looking at this unit from Home Depot. The lines are precharged and sealed so supposedly you don't need a vacuum pump to install. http://www.homedepot.com/p/MRCOOL-DIY-24-000-BTU-2-Ton-Ductless-Mini-Split-Air-Conditioner-and-Heat-Pump-230V-60Hz-DIY-24-HP-230A/207085061 |
