First snow of the winter season? - TomK - 10-20-2017

Friday's MKWC forecast has snow, possibly heavy, starting Sunday evening with the worst conditions occurring on Monday for Mauna Kea's summit. There's a threat of thunderstorms as well for the rest of us.

Well, the storm's here but temperatures are a little too high for snow on MK right now (winds are over 80 mph though). In the meantime, the island chain is being hammered by heavy rain and severe thunderstorms. So far, the thunder I've heard is quite distant but have seen a lot of lightning. In the meantime, the NWS seems to have run out of colors or space for all the warnings that are currently active at the time of writing.
