World records on the Big Island - PaulW - 12-06-2017 http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-42250550 I had no idea about this: "The local area has recorded several other heaviest fruit, Mr Love told West Hawaii Today. Local farmers currently hold world records for the heaviest jackfruit and soursop, a fruit that occurs in the American tropics, and a local farmer also once held the record for the heaviest mango, he said." RE: World records on the Big Island - Kenney - 12-06-2017 Yes, that's some Avocado! We used to live Mauka Captain Cook, and would collect "road kill" Avos every day. Some were pretty ugly and dented , but I have never tasted better Avos than those old trees (not hybrids) bear! I love it when my friend comes to visit from CC and brings a few of those beauties! |
