Solar power planning in 2 other states - MarkD - 12-07-2017

This fascinating PBS segment from Dec. 6 reports on solar power in Vermont and Florida. Vermont's power utility works with the community to move into a new era of power sharing, including the leasing of giant Tesla batteries.

Vermont's Green Mountain Power's CEO has quite a different philosophy than our HELCO officials. Time to rethink how we handle solar power in Hawaii?

My son is working at the Tesla Gigafactory in Sparks, NV outside Reno making Tesla batteries. They say Reno’s so close to hell you can see Sparks.

The weak link in going off grid is the batteries. Lead-acid batteries are 1859 technology.
