It seems a tad bit extra hot for this time of year no? I think it hit 90 degrees in Hilo the other day for a record. And it's not even April. Better get prepared for summer if this is Spring heat. Maybe the year I finally get an AC unit.

Many of us will look back at the cold weather we had in February and the first 2/3 of March this summer with longing. Summer heat seems to be more brutal every year. (Or maybe it's old age.)

That's kind of one of the reasons I started this thread. I'm no young pup anymore and it does seem to get hotter as I age or am I just feeling it more?

It’s both IMO EW. It’s getting hotter and I’m feeling it more in my geezerness.
We got AC after the lava flow got too close and smoky, but we hate using for two reasons.
1. Helco bill goes up
2. The animals hate it when we close up the house to conserve electricity, limiting their ability to come in and go outside.
I think we’ve turned it on 3 times since Izelle.
We have been using the fans for the past 3 nights. If we can just get the house below 80 degrees, we can sleep ok.
It’s going to be a long hot Summer. It’s warm enough now to use the pool in Pahoa again, so that’s a plus.

It was 90 on Wednesday. The National Weather Service reported the old record for that date was 87, set back in 1974. So, yes, it was hot. Especially for March!
