Cinderland - who has actually visited or stayed - Todd H - 04-28-2018 Before getting to the area of interest, can anyone reliably report if Cinderland is still in existence (including sustained human activity)? It's an interesting place and concept, at least based on the You Tube videos. It's not free - you actually have to pay and do some sort of measurable work in order to stay. There's also a Cinderland Facebook page. Sent them a couple of quick messages many months ago, but zero response. Has anyone on PUNAWEB actually visited Cinderland, or perhaps spent a few nights there? What was it like? How were the permanent residents and short-term guests? Todd RE: Cinderland - who has actually visited or stayed - Kapoho Joe - 04-29-2018 Cinderland is still up and running. Jesus runs a sort of drop in youth hostel so at anytime you'll have visitors from different countries mingling with the mainland hippies. The permanent folks are woofer type punatics and the short term people are often tourists looking for an off the beaten path type of accommodation. Taco Tuesday is still in effect, a come as you are potluck dinner. Might be easier to bring some tacos than to wait for an electronic response! RE: Cinderland - who has actually visited or stayed - ElysianWort - 04-29-2018 It's definitely not glorious Todd. Little shanties and tarps set up between weed-trees in an isolated area with plenty of mosquitoes and very few useful natural resources. I've heard tons of tales of falling outs with residents, and thefts involving young hippies leaving their belongings at the camp site. RE: Cinderland - who has actually visited or stayed - Todd H - 04-30-2018 Mahalo to Kapoho Joe and Elysian Wort for some insight. Maybe - on our next visit to Hawaii - my wife and I will stop by and check it out for ourselves. Maybe even meet Jesus!! Probably will not stay overnight, based on the descriptions. Todd RE: Cinderland - who has actually visited or stayed - bananahead - 05-01-2018 ask him for yourself..... https://www.facebook.com/jesus.cinderland name on FB is 'Eugene Andrews' very cool guy! but his place is so popular he gets his share of 'Drainbows' (idiot hippies that burn all their bridges in Puna) watch this video to see the real 'Jesus' (Eugene)... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI20ZJIxZDQ aloha ****************************************************************** save our indigenous and endemic Hawaiian Plants... learn about them, grow them, and plant them on your property, ....instead of all that invasive non-native garbage I see in most yards... aloha |
