County and Govt. grade thus far - 2liveque - 05-08-2018 I hate to disparage the hard work of many of our county officials. I have seen heroes arise from many different sectors. But all in all, I cannot help but feel so frustrated with the apparent ineptness of the county. Especially Civil defense. Our county needs to understand that information is consumed very differently in this day and age than it was in the 80's or 90's. To hear a 6:00am Civil defense update at 2Pm on the radio is simply unacceptable. Mahalo to the Puna community and heroes like Ikaika and others for coming through with live, up to date information that our county is continually dropping the ball on. No information is the common theme we are hearing from displaced residents. Harry Kim appeared to cringe at some of the things that were being said by some of his appointments. So frustrating.
