New Business on Pahoa Bypass? - snorkle - 09-10-2018 I noticed a SUP application sign near Homestead road on the bypass (Farm and Garden Supply). I thought this was contradictory to the PCDP. RE: New Business on Pahoa Bypass? - Rob Tucker - 09-10-2018 It is. RE: New Business on Pahoa Bypass? - kalakoa - 09-17-2018 Subject property does NOT include frontage on Homestead Road, so they are definitely seeking a "driveway on the highway". As the highway is a State road, permission to construct a driveway comes from the State, not County. Good thing we have a Community Development Plan... RE: New Business on Pahoa Bypass? - Rob Tucker - 09-17-2018 snorkle, Can you post the SUP application number here for us? RE: New Business on Pahoa Bypass? - kalakoa - 09-24-2018 SPP 18-000199 TO ESTABLISH A FARM AND GARDEN STORE PROPERTY AREA 32,670 SQ FT TMK (3) 1-5-005: 024 I note that the SPP does not appear on Planning's agenda for 10/4, and that the applications being considered therein are numbered below 18-000100 ... so this might take a while. RE: New Business on Pahoa Bypass? - terracore - 10-02-2018 I think this is the SUP being requested by the owners of Pahoa Feed. RE: New Business on Pahoa Bypass? - kalakoa - 10-29-2018 SPP 18-000199 goes before Planning Commission on Wednesday November 7, Aupuni Center Conference Room, 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo. http://records.hawaiicounty.gov/Weblink/1/doc/96310/Page1.aspx PCDP (final draft 032108, page 5-7) says "there should be no direct access or visibility from either Highway 11 or Highway 130", though it could be argued that this development falls outside the Pahoa Regional Town Center designation. Regulations aside, this driveway would be unsafe due to limited line-of-sight. |
