All OTA stations down? Or is it just me? - macuu222 - 09-12-2018

Can't get anything on any station. Could this be the tropical storm hitting Oahu?

Just you I'm afraid.

OK... Wrong input on the remote. Back to normal. Getting senile in my old age....

Weird thing is that they all stopped working for me around 6:50 pm, apart from the PBS channels. They recovered quickly though and were working again about five minutes later.

H22 had posted on here previously that one of the best things about OTA is the decentralized nature of it. One cable company (or wire) can't shut them all down. I remember after Iselle we only had a few OTA channels, but many of those who were dependent on cable had zero.

Yup! A handful of the stations use some legacy cables to connect to Honolulu, and some of the others use wireless means. I believe 45 and 10 (PBS) both use separate wireless paths, and 14 may as well. So that's 4 different paths. And as new stations sign on, they'll each have different points of origin.
