BTW, "Grass Fed" is nothing by marketing flannel, much like "organic", used to make you think you are getting a better product when quite the opposite is true.

I would rather eat beef from cattle that have a free range of pastures to graze from than those that are trapped in small pens for most their lives eating silage.
Are you saying all companies raising cattle for beef practice the most humane techniques for their animals and all companies have vast pastures for them to graze on?
Animals eaten for meat have different tastes depending on what they are fed. Are you denying that?
I would rather eat a burger from a cow that has had a half descent life out on the pasture. I think you are misinformed if you're saying all cattle companies are using the same practices.

Most USA consumers have a tough time eating grass-fed beef that wasn't finished on grain, citing "gamey" flavor, tougher meat, and lack of marbling.
The USDA opted out of defining or certifying what "grass fed" meant in 2016. The original idea that a cow would be pastured it's whole life might work in Hawaii but it works few other places in the USA. The mainland has winters, and grass doesn't grow in the winter. Cows don't forage in the snow, and they have to feed them something. This presented a problem in defining what "grass fed" means. Clover is not a grass, but it's healthy for cows to forage. Corn is a grass, but it can also be a grain. Corn kernels are not a grass, but sprouted corn is considered a grass.
So there is no definition of what a "grass fed" cow even is, other than industry self-certification programs. If the label doesn't specify "grass fed and finished", it was probably fed grain at some point in it's life. And even that doesn't necessarily specify it wasn't fed a massive amount of sprouted grain.

I said NOTHING about all cattle companies using the same practices, OR humane practices. Those are YOUR strawmen.
Also, as far as I know, only veal calfs are kept in pens.

To me, it is so confusing to have a post without the quote, since nobody knows to what you are responding to. Bass Ackwards, so to speak.

You can continue to do that, but then you could also delete everything except the main phrase or sentence you’re replying to. If you’re replying to entire paragraphs of a previous quote, you can still delete most of it, readers will see you’re quoting, and scroll back up to read the entire original post you’re responding to, if they wish.
