Holiday Inn waiting for sign approval for 5 years - Rob Tucker - 03-16-2019 Holiday Inn still waiting for sign approval after five years.... More of CoH Neil Erickson at his best... delaying, obstructing, blaming it on someone else. Why is incompetence rewarded? https://www.hawaiitribune-herald.com/2019/03/16/hawaii-news/holiday-inn-still-waiting-for-sign-approval-after-five-years/ RE: Holiday Inn waiting for sign approval for 5 years - rainyjim - 03-16-2019 This is abysmal. From the complaint in 2016, to Neil’s unpermited property to this with no recourse. What is the next step? Hawaii county et al refuses to make the necessary changes, I have no faith in the state lawmakers either. Is there some federal entity that can remedy this? If so, who can other concerned residents contact to advocate for policy changes. RE: Holiday Inn waiting for sign approval for 5 years - kalakoa - 03-16-2019 Is there some federal entity that can remedy this? Yes, that's why we now have Community Deveopment Plans. See? All fixed. RE: Holiday Inn waiting for sign approval for 5 years - wax - 03-16-2019 It would be exciting if some official (any official) in a public setting would ask the Mayor, the Director of Public Works, Neil Ericson: what is your oldest unpermitted live permit request and what - exactly - is holding it up? Then follow up with a question on the next three. My guess is that the person asked would not have a clue. Thereafter we would hear about how expensive it would be to keep track of that information and report on it. Yet businesses, schools and others track information more complicated than that every day. If they did not - they would absolutely be out of business. The situation is long running and truly shameful -but a clear state of our governments in Hawaii. Political solution: raise taxes. Unbelievable but priceless. RE: Holiday Inn waiting for sign approval for 5 years - Guest - 03-16-2019 geez Rob, is this happening to you directly with this person as well ? Who the heck is the next rung up the ladder ? No dog in this fight, but if i were Holiday Inn I'd be calling whoever is over this guy every other week politely asking how its going. i know everyone knows this ..just ...sheesh RE: Holiday Inn waiting for sign approval for 5 years - kalakoa - 03-16-2019 we would hear about how expensive it would be to keep track of that information and report on it Didn't the County invest millions of tax dollars in a new permit tracking system? https://www.hawaiitribune-herald.com/2017/08/14/hawaii-news/system-under-construction-it-will-take-12-months-to-resume-filing-tracking-of-county-building-permits-online/ RE: Holiday Inn waiting for sign approval for 5 years - wax - 03-16-2019 Don’t think they ever got it running. Too much employee opposition - accountability. RE: Holiday Inn waiting for sign approval for 5 years - Rob Tucker - 03-16-2019 I've taken my next step. I've hired a lawyer. It shouldn't have to come to that but I've had it with this non performing department. A major drag on the economy. Our county government is not our friend. A simple fact. Until you go after their money they don't care. RE: Holiday Inn waiting for sign approval for 5 years - terracore - 03-16-2019 Rob, you should start a "go fund me" to pay your attorney fees since this is in the community interest. RE: Holiday Inn waiting for sign approval for 5 years - kalakoa - 03-16-2019 Until you go after their money they don't care. I thought that was ... public money? To be used for serving the people. Looking forward to the press release! |
