Documentary - Aloha From Lavaland - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 03-23-2019 Kickstarter documentary about the 2014 eruption.* It's now available to watch free if you have Amazon Prime Video. I haven't seen it yet, but will try over the weekend and add a review. Here's the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=SRAloha+from+Lavaland++2016+trailer&time_continue=57&v=lgrcWBPGYak * edited to change recent (2018) to 2014 RE: Documentary - Aloha From Lavaland - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 03-23-2019 I liked it. It's a good snapshot of Puna five years ago, showing Pahoa, neighboring farms, and plenty of interviews with an excellent cross section of residents. Lots of folks and locations you'll recognize; Ikaika Marzo, Jezus & Cinderland, Smiley & Green Lake, Tulsi Gabbard in uniform, Uncle Roberts, Kalani, Graham Ellis & Hiccup Circus, and many, many more. Local music, Puna-style philosophic sentiments, and (SPOILER ALERT) a happy ending, in 2014. The film closes with a cliffhanger warning however - - Kilauea could erupt again, at any time. RE: Documentary - Aloha From Lavaland - Durian Fiend - 03-25-2019 I liked it too. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. |
