Did anyone else see 1 & at times 2 long bright beams in the sky tonight at about 7:30 pm? Was someone just playing w/a laser?

You're not going to see a laser unless it's aimed right at you or it's incredibly powerful - not the sort of equipment that's likely to be prowling lower HPP. It's more likely powerful flashlights or searchlights near your location.

The one they blast the shy with at the Mauna Loa Observatory is pretty incredible to see. I was up there after dark when they cranked it off and it was amazing. Been a few years.

I didn’t notice anything last night, but my neighbor has a 10,000 lumen (or more?) flashlight, and when the sea mist is in the air you can see the tight beam for quite a distance. We tried spotting whales with it one night some years ago. We could hear them calling, but never spotted one surfacing.

<$20 Green laser (beams) are easily visible from a few houses away. A $250 1+ watt green laser beam can be seen for miles. Was it green?

No, these were white in color & we’re moving up & down slightly (1 brighter than the other) & seemed to shine for a few miles (reminded me of the beams at the beginning of one of the old Columbia Pictures movies).

Oh, btw, we weren’t drinking margaritas #127864; ! The beams were shining upwards from the ocean towards the upper streets of HPP.

Here's a 6000 lumen spotlight that illuminates 800 meters.

If the lights were white then they almost certainly weren't lasers. White light lasers have only recently been developed in the lab, e.g.,

My laser printer prints white, in fact most of the page is printed with it.
