"The main sticking point is that there are three main candidate sites. One of those is off Costa Rica, one off Baha, and one off Hawaii.”

I wonder if I should tell them not to bother. I'll have to see if there's already a GoFundMe for the Protectors to go block some more science, rolling a few rocks won't cut it this time.

PaulW,
It’s certainly not like the good old days, back in the 1970’s when the CIA could enlist the help of Howard Hughes and his gigantic floating drilling platform, position it north of Hawaii under the pretenses of prospecting for minerals, but instead raise a sunken top secret Russian submarine resting 16,500 feet below the surface.

If we could land a man on the moon (and bring the astronauts home via Honolulu), we could just as easily go deep north of Hawaii. Good times.

I’m guessing no one complained. I’m guessing no one knew about it until after the recovery had taken place.

Thanks, I'd heard about that, never realized it was near Hawaii. Well, relatively.
